Biomedics 55 Evolution is the new version of the classic Biomedics 55. It's not exactly the same as the previous version; for example, it is aspheric, which means it helps the eye compensate for a irregularity called astigmatism (if you don't have a slight astigmatism, which most people do without realizing it, the lens works just as well anyway). You can switch to Evolution from the old regular Biomedics 55 without necessarily needing a new lens fitting, but visiting an optometrist is never a bad idea, so we recommend either calling or visiting your optometrist before upgrading to Evolution.
