Acuvue is a family of contact lenses from Johnson & Johnson available as both daily disposable and reusable lenses. The range at Netlens includes spherical lenses for short-sightedness and long-sightedness, together with toric lenses for astigmatism. Material, lens technology, replacement schedule and wearing schedule vary between the individual Acuvue products.

Acuvue contact lenses for different vision needs

The Acuvue range at Netlens includes lenses for both spherical vision correction and astigmatism. 1-Day Acuvue Moist is a daily disposable spherical lens, while Acuvue Oasys is a reusable spherical lens. For astigmatism, the range includes 1 Day Acuvue Moist For Astigmatism, Acuvue Oasys 1-Day with Hydraluxe for Astigmatism and Acuvue Oasys For Astigmatism.

Materials and technologies within the Acuvue range

Acuvue lenses use different materials and technologies depending on the specific model. 1-Day Acuvue Moist lenses are made from etafilcon A hydrogel and use LACREON® Technology. Acuvue Oasys lenses are made from senofilcon A silicone hydrogel.

Acuvue Oasys reusable lenses use HYDRACLEAR® PLUS Technology, while Acuvue Oasys 1-Day with Hydraluxe for Astigmatism uses HydraLuxe® Technology. The toric models also use stabilisation designs intended for astigmatism correction. Specifications should therefore be checked for the individual lens rather than assumed to apply across the entire Acuvue range.

Daily disposable and reusable Acuvue contact lenses

1-Day Acuvue Moist, 1 Day Acuvue Moist For Astigmatism and Acuvue Oasys 1-Day with Hydraluxe for Astigmatism are daily disposable contact lenses. They are designed for single-day use and should be discarded after removal.

Acuvue Oasys and Acuvue Oasys For Astigmatism are reusable lenses. When worn on a daily-wear schedule, they have a two-week replacement schedule and should be removed, cleaned, disinfected and stored between wears. Certain approved wearing schedules may also allow extended wear for up to 7 nights. Overnight wear should only be followed when it is appropriate for the specific lens and has been recommended for you by your optician or eye care professional.

When reordering Acuvue contact lenses, use the same lens model and prescription parameters recommended for you by your optician or eye care professional. Depending on the lens type, these parameters can include power, base curve, diameter, cylinder and axis.
