Biofinity is a family of reusable monthly contact lenses from CooperVision. The range includes lenses for standard spherical vision correction, astigmatism and presbyopia, together with Biofinity Energys for spherical prescriptions. Biofinity lenses use a silicone hydrogel material and Aquaform® Technology, while the optical design varies between the different models.
Biofinity contact lenses for different vision needs
The Biofinity range includes several lens designs for different prescriptions. Biofinity is the standard spherical lens, while Biofinity Toric is designed for astigmatism and Biofinity Multifocal is designed for people with presbyopia who need correction at more than one distance. Biofinity Energys is a spherical lens that uses Digital Zone Optics® within its optical design.
If you have astigmatism, you can also explore our toric contact lenses. For presbyopia, see our multifocal contact lenses.
Biofinity material and lens technologies
Biofinity lenses are made from Comfilcon A silicone hydrogel and use Aquaform® Technology, which creates a naturally wettable lens material by holding water throughout the lens rather than relying on a surface coating.
Different Biofinity models also use lens-specific optical technologies. Biofinity uses an Aberration Neutralising System™, Biofinity Toric uses Optimised Toric Lens Geometry™, Biofinity Multifocal uses Balanced Progressive® Technology and Biofinity Energys uses Digital Zone Optics®. These technologies are specific to the individual lens designs and should not be assumed to work in the same way across the entire range.
Monthly replacement and wearing schedule
Biofinity lenses in this range are reusable lenses with a monthly replacement schedule. Replacement schedule and wearing schedule are separate considerations. Depending on the specific lens model and the recommendation from your optician or eye care professional, some Biofinity lenses may also be approved for extended wear.
Do not sleep in contact lenses or extend the recommended wearing period unless this is permitted for your specific lens model and has been recommended for you. You can also explore our monthly contact lenses to compare other reusable lens options.
Choosing and reordering Biofinity contact lenses
When reordering Biofinity contact lenses, use the same lens model and prescription parameters recommended for you by your optician or eye care professional. The required parameters depend on the lens type and can include power, base curve, diameter, cylinder, axis and addition.
Matching prescription values alone does not necessarily mean that one Biofinity model can be substituted for another. Optical design, fit and available prescription parameters vary between Biofinity products.
