Purevision is a family of reusable monthly contact lenses from Bausch & Lomb. The range includes spherical lenses for short-sightedness and long-sightedness, toric lenses for astigmatism and multifocal lenses for presbyopia. All Purevision lenses in the range are made from balafilcon A, while optical design, lens technology and approved wearing schedule vary between the individual models.
Purevision contact lenses for different vision needs
The Purevision range includes several lens designs for different prescriptions. Purevision and Purevision 2 HD are spherical monthly lenses, while Purevision 2 Hd For Astigmatism is designed for people with astigmatism. Purevision Multifocal and Purevision 2 For Presbyopia are designed for people with presbyopia who need vision correction at more than one distance.

Materials and technologies within the Purevision range
Purevision lenses are made from balafilcon A silicone hydrogel, but the optical design and technologies differ between models. Purevision 2 HD uses High Definition Optics and ComfortMoist™ Technology, while Purevision 2 Hd For Astigmatism also uses Auto Align Design™ for toric correction.
Purevision 2 For Presbyopia uses 3-Zone Progressive™ Design and ComfortMoist™ Technology, while Purevision Multifocal uses a multifocal optical design. Specifications should therefore be checked for the individual lens rather than assumed to apply in the same way across the entire Purevision range.
Monthly replacement and different wearing schedules
All Purevision lenses in this collection have a monthly replacement schedule, but replacement schedule and wearing schedule are separate considerations.
Purevision, Purevision Multifocal, Purevision 2 HD and Purevision 2 Hd For Astigmatism may be approved for continuous wear for up to 30 nights. Purevision 2 For Presbyopia may be approved for extended wear for up to 7 nights. Overnight or continuous wear should only be followed when it is appropriate for the specific lens and has been recommended for you by your optician or eye care professional.

When reordering Purevision contact lenses, use the same lens model and prescription parameters recommended for you by your optician or eye care professional. Depending on the lens type, these parameters can include power, base curve, diameter, cylinder, axis and addition.
